Dan Johnson

As a founding partner of Driftless HomeWrights (DHW), Dan Johnson has contracted and built some of Wisconsin’s most energy efficient and sustainable buildings. With his business partner David Romary, they built one of the first certified Passive Houses in Wisconsin in 2011. This was followed up with over a decade of homes built to similar standards and incorporating double-wall construction. In 2022, Driftless HomeWrights was awarded the ENERGY EXCELLENCE AWARD by Focus of Energy for two of their homes that made the top 5 most energy efficient homes of 2021. Currently DHW is renovating and doing an energy upgrade to an auto garage transitioning into a distillery for Round River Distilling.
