Owner Kinyon Construction
Bio

As a carpenter for 20 years David Kinyon was lured to work at Wisconsin Energy Conservation Corporation by Ed Carroll, who worked at Wisconsin Energy Conservation Corporation (now Slipstream) when he volunteered on a Habitat for Humanity project where he was responsible for all aspects of the remodeling of 4, 4 unit buildings on the south side of Madison. David became a part of the Focus on Energy new construction program with an emphasis on not for profit builders. Other responsibilities included working with Modular Builders and manufacturers, Wisconsin Builder Associations, material suppliers, and Native American housing authorities.

In his trainings David developed programs to teach better construction practices and material usage. His goal was to convince them that building for energy efficiency was about comfort and lowering operational costs at little additional up front cost. He developed and delivered educational training programs (with exams) for these groups. Of course training how to conduct diagnostic testing was an important part of proving the claims. David also delivered presentations at the B4 conference for 5 years, EEBA conference 3 years, and the National Green Building Association conference in Austin, Texas.
